Blade being a Pharaoh for the Day


WALT: Write in paragraphs.

Today I am a pharaoh  for one day in Ancient Egypt. I am  rich and have everything. My job is  to watch over the law courts and  the chief of the temple. I will have to be responsible for ruling the country.
I would  wear my crown on my head, my collars that  are made out of gold, gems and jewellery. I wore a white cloth wrapped around my waist to make a short skirt and I am shirtless. I would put gold arm bands and bracelets around my arms and legs.   
Daily I go  to the temple to  pray to the Gods. After doing that I would hear news from my trusted vizer. After doing that I  check the building sites which were built by my  servants and officials. Finally my last duty would be like having a conversation with my wife or would be entertained by my servants.

Jump Rope

Glen Innes School had their Jump Rope for heart in their school hall, on Friday the 7th. It started from the new entrants to the senior part of the school. All classes skipped and showcased their outstanding talents. They were supporting the heart foundation. Classes came to the floor, and skipped.

All classes had amazing skills . Everyone was smiling and having a wonderful time. All the children had long lasting enthusiasm.  But not just the students had high energy, the parents also were thrilled and was feeling the energy from the floor. Each class had about a 3-4 minute routine.

The music that Glen Innes School skipped to raised the roof. They had music that made you want to get up and dance and sing. Funny enough, students from all around the room did. When gentlemen came on everyone was dancing and singing crazy.


On the 22nd of June Glen Innes School are going to be showcasing their talents again at the G.I centre. So go down and see it for yourself. Also bring some coins along to also support the heart foundation.

Mummification Process

The Ancient Egyptians mummified their dead. Egyptians removed the brain, intestines, stomach, and the liver and were put in Canopic jars but they did not removed the heart. The Egyptians salted and dried the body. They stuffed some cloth inside the body so that it kept in shape. Next it was oiled and was wrapped in lots of cloth. The body was wrapped tightly to stop the body from rotting away. The process was supervised by a priest. The priest used special instruments to send the soul from the body to the next world. Some of dead bodies were put in ordinary boxes or it was decorated. But if it was someone special like a Pharaoh, the body was transferred into a stone case.

Langa Report Jump Rope

Last Friday, Glen Innes School had  Jump Rope show in the hall. Glen Innes children have Jump Rope every year. They have Jump Rope every year so they can fundraise for the heart foundation because heart disease is one of the diseases that most New Zealanders die of. Glen Innes children will be great skippers when they are grow up.  

Room ones routine was fabulous. Everyone in Room one could skip very well except one child, but he tried. Everyone that competed in the Jump Rope had amazing skills. They were very enthusiastic and happy. The senior children had more skills. They had the scooter bit which was amazing.  

The music was suitable for the kids. Everyone enjoyed room 9 music because they knew the lyrics. It was a type of a mix song like room 11. Room 11 song was from a popular movie,Saturday Night Fever.


The parents loved their performance. In two weeks time Glen Innes children will be skipping at G.I centre.

Mikayla Report on Jump Rope

A week ago, Glen Innes School had Jump Rope for Heart at their school hall. Friday was the big show.The whole school performed a really lovely display of skipping.  Glen Innes School were practising, performing and doing a great job at jump rope. The school did jump rope for heart because they were practising the show for the Glen Innes Centre and to be fit and healthy. One of the most fantastic items was Room 11.  

When the school got to the hall, the kids looked very nervous and especially excited to perform their routines with the teachers help. The kids were excellent at their performance, but one or two people were still getting a hang of it. The children were energetic and had wonderful skills in skipping. Following the classes routines, were fantastic. It was like the whole school were crazy at skipping. Well anyway the school  was amazing at their routines and how they presented it.

The  music chosen for the  routines was fantastic. Some songs were a perfect match to the classes routines. Almost all the time kids would sing each song that was playing. The most popular song that was played was Gentleman, that song was playing to Room 12’s routine. Room 11’s remix was a fast motion, that was really good because they did some fast skipping. The thing was is that some songs were slow and that would mean that the kids would have to skip slowly. That was a real thing that came to me. Anyway the songs were fantastic and it had a real beat to the skipping.

Parents were fantastic as well. They were cheering on their children and they were being an amazing audience. When Mr. Naidoo called them on to the dance they came rushing down to their kids. They were just a grateful audience.

Crystal: Maths Multiplication Game

This game was called Multiplication Model. Firstly, you have to know your times tables. That’s all that this game needs. I found this game very easy. I enjoyed it too because afterwards you got to dress up the models that the game gave you. The next game I would like to play next is a game division.

This is a picture about an Egyptian basket full of crops. There are many kinds of food in the basket. I drew crops that grew in Egypt. The food that I drew was grapes, melons, cucumber, onions, lettuce and barley.

Langa opinion: Should drugs be decriminalised


Walt: write and opinion.

I think drugs need to be decriminalised because it’s not good for the young siblings because they learn from their older brothers or sisters. It should be illegal because when you grow up you will be just like your friends that is why you need to choose the right friends. What I know about drugs it that it can make you go high and makes the brain work differently in a bad sense. Drugs is not good for you because it can give you lung cancer.

Alisi report on Contributions by Ancient Egyptians

Egyptian contributions

One of the last contributions from the Egyptians was the 24 hours in a day. The Egyptians decan noticed breaks along the ecliptic and later discovered the night into 12 parts. Which obviously meant that there would be 24 parts in a day. The other contribution was the number of days in the calendar. The Egyptian already knew there was 360 days in a year. Later added 5 days for feasting, making a total of 365 days.

The Egyptians also contributed in the field of maths. They invented the numbers based in ten, which we use today. Geometry was very useful to the Egyptians when surveying. The also used fractions and and whole numbers to count.

Chase's maths game


This is a card game which I am learning about. The answer I have is 10 and 3. The point of this game is to add up to 13. So 10+3=13. The game was like my topic. I am learning about Egypt. Next I would like to learn harder games than this.
